Always love trying new products, especially when are made by a small family-owned business. For these agave & salted chocolate biscuits, I used Gerard Family Foods Agave Syrup. Agave is a naturally forming sweetener that has a sweet and delicate flavour, making it a versatile alternative sweetener. This organic natural sweetener from Mexico is the perfect substitute for honey making it 100% vegan-friendly.
INGREDIENTS (make 10 biscuits)
110 gr soft unsalted butter
150 gr agave syrup
1 egg
150 gr flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
100 gr dark chocolate, roughly chopped
METHOD
To make the agave & salted chocolate biscuits, first of all, preheat the oven to 190°C
In a bowl, mix the butter and agave syrup. Add the egg and beat well. Now add flour, baking soda and salt. Continue to beat until fully combined. Stir in chocolate chocolate.
Using a tablespoon, drop a spoonful of the mixture onto a lined baking tray, a few cm apart.
Bake for 10 minutes until a light golden brown. Cool on the tray for 5 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
