No fancy equipment is needed to make your own dried limes. And this technique works for any kind of citrus.
Not only these slices are perfect for garnishing your cocktails, but they can be also used in many other ways.
In middle-eastern cooking, for example, are used in soups and stews, you can add them to your tea, water or use them for cake decorating.
INGREDIENTS
Limes, cut into 2-3 mm think slices
METHOD
Preheat the oven at 75ºC and line and tray with baking paper
Place the lime slices in the tray, making sure they don’t overlap.
Pop them into the oven for 4-5 hours.
Make sure you rotate the tray for an even drying result.
When dry, remove from the oven and let them cool off completely before storing them into an airtight container or jar.
