At Nonna’s Table is a collection of treasured recipes and stories that celebrate Nonna Livia, a home cook who unconditional love for her family and memories of Italy inspired the meals she made every day.

Reading At Nonna’s Table brought a big smile to my face. Every recipe is enticing and doable; while the stories are so warm it’s a book you’ll read whenever you are missing the hugs of your own family - Vicky Bennison, author and founder of Pasta Grannies

At Nonna’s Table is a moving and honest insight into all that we love about Italian culture. Paola’s writing feels intimate and the food is authentic - glorious in its simplicity and rich with stories. Those same stories we immigrants hold on tight to, because they are our legacy - Silvia Colloca, author and television presenter

A book written with love; full of nostalgia, comforting recipes for feeding loved ones and stories recounting a way of life that would otherwise be all too quickly forgotten - Emiko Davies, author and culinary educator

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Paola was born in Melbourne, Australia. Her parents migrated from North-eat Italy to Melbourne in 1950. Paola grew up in a family where the growing and preparation of food, the gathering of friends and shared meals were at its heart.

Paola’s cooking is inspired by the home-cooked meals her mother Livia made, food from the Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the northern coast of the Adriatic Sea, highlighting the fruit and vegetables that were grown in her father Nelly’s backyard garden. The dishes tell stories of her family, her origins and her love of simple and seasonal produce.

A dentist by profession, Paola realised long ago that what mattered most to her was food and cooking, their link to her family and their homeland. She established the award-winning blog 'Italy on my mind’ where she continues to share recipes, stories of family and photos. Paola regularly runs cooking classes in Melbourne and has run residential cooking workshops at the Anna task Lanza Cooking School in Sicily, and food tours of the Adriatic coast of Puglia and of Trieste and its surrounds. She discovered a passion for photography along the way and her instagram account ‘@italyonmymind’ is full of images of Italy and its food.

Paola has written, styled and photographed three cookbooks: Italian Street Food (2016/re-edition 2021); Adriatico - recipes and stories from Italy's Adriatic Coast (2018); and Istria - recipes and stories from the hidden heart of Italy, Slovenia and Croatia (2021).

At Nonna’s Table is her fourth cookbook.
